Continued: From some perspectives, the #Aquarius TV Series portrays Manson as more charismatic than evil. Although the story focuses more on Manson being a leader and having this prophetic like quality about him, in the end, the viewer will just think he was just another charismatic person, during the Age of Aquarius, during the Peace Movement of the 1960’s, sparked by the Vietnam War. As a result, the Hippie counterculture emerged, fighting against the Establishment, making many people susceptible to the change of an era, from the staunch 50’s, where Baby Boomers were ripe for rebellion from their parents’ Generation, who chose Stabiity, Acceptance and Linear Thinking towards the Establishment (aka, Government). This resulted in quite a drastic 180 degree Revolt, an era of a newfound Philosophical, drug induced culture, as Psychedelic Drugs such as LSD (aka, Acid) and Psilocybin Mushrooms (aka, Magic Mushrooms or simply Shrooms) were being used freely and in great quantities, as a means of exploring Transcendentalism, Peace and the Meaning of Life, and the many prophetic teachings on new Theories of Enlightenment, from such notable people as Timothy Leary and . Manson was portrayed as someone, without formal education, but with a high Emotional IQ , allowing him to use this quality to manipulate and coerce people into situations which were to his advantage. I’m not sure if this was an alternative take on the factual account of the real #CharlesManson, a biased attempt to illustrate his innocence prior to his recent death, or perhaps it was simply my take on the character in the #AquariusTelevisionSeries. However, overall worth a watch, based on the historical accounts of the times, the suspense demonstrated throughout, or for the quality acting.
Day Break is a great Television Series. Too bad it was cut short after only one Season, however, as with many series, the Producers and Writers back themselves into a corner. Given the Episode Titles, you will know what I am referring to, without spoiling anything about the series. As I’m sure there was a way to transition to another season, but this was released when Networks were pulling the plug after Rating Numbers were revealed by Nielsen. They never thought to take into account the fact that Ratings and Viewership numbers have changed with the relevance of not only Paid Streaming Services, such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, but also now via Google, as well as data obtained from Free Online Streaming websites, such as Watch Episode Series.com. Taye Diggs plays a great role in this Police Procedural Drama, in addition to many other well known celebrities. I had the good fortune of knowing #TayeDiggs while he was studying Theatre at Syracuse University, the same four years I had attended. He is an amazingly gifted Actor, who seems to always land great roles. Since the TV Networks, as well as Cable, have been rebranding old Projects, which were often hastily dismissed, I hope that #DayBreak is picked back up.
The television series, Hustle, is a must watch for fans of Guy Ritchie’s Movie Productions, such as Snatch (which was followed by Snatch, the TV Series; I’ve seen bits and pieces, and it looks entertaining, even though it lacks Brad Pitt’s random, but undoubtedly epic, performance in the movie), Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, as well as RockNRolla. It is a BBC or SkyOne Production, which they always seem to nail for their audiences. One such British Production, with lots of Action, Drama and definitely Dark Comedy, is Strike Back, which has apparently just recently risen from its death bed, for a Sixth Season. And, if you are looking for another such TV Series Binge Opportunity, Spooks is a Must! The BBC has always left me entertained as well as wanting more, I’m sure you’ll feel the same after watching #Hustle
Deception is a really fun show to watch. It has a lot of the same themes, very similar to Castle, but the Illusionist angle is definitely a new theme, which at first seemed silly. However, after seeing what goes down in the first episode, the concept seems to work throughout, and keeps you Entertained. I am anticipating the next air date, and hope that the #Deception Series gets renewed for a Second Season.
